As authoritarian measures began to be imposed in the United States in early 2025, political pundits and mainstream media commentators routinely said that our political system lacked traditional guardrails, such as the balance of power among the executive, legislative and judicial branches of government. As the normal guardrails constraining presidential power were battered by the incoming president’s hunger for power, it became clear that “WE THE PEOPLE” are the ultimate guardrails.
Formed in 2025 to oppose tyranny and restore domestic tranquility through widespread resistance to the usurpation of power by an ego-driven, self-serving President of the United States.
We are an unorganized, unincorporated, leaderless, non-governmental non-organization aiming to thwart Donald J. Trump and his acolytes from establishing an authoritarian police state in the United States. We are nonpartisan with supporters drawn from across the political spectrum as Trump’s second term got underway.
Earliest involvement came from U.S. citizens in communities around the country whose personal life experiences included living under oppressive, autocratic regimes in Africa, Central and South America, Asia, and the Middle East. It was clear to them by March 2025 that Americans without such first-hand knowledge lacked an understanding of the pervasiveness of police state repression, and how to confront it.
